Saturday 5th November, fireworks on and off the pitch.

Whilst most of Leeds were watching fireworks, Ladies thirds were enjoying our first floodlit match of the season in the extreme cold of Weetwood. We were facing an opposition we had met last season back in Div 5 ( and failed to beat) so we knew it would be another tough match. Leeds began strongly and continued that way throughout but having got through the first 10 minutes without conceding a goal we began to believe we could be in with a shout. The Leeds attack was fairly relentless but the cool heads of Hannah and Emily ensured everyone concerned did what they were supposed to do and kept the threat at bay. Lots of running by the midfielders Bethany and Eleanor kept recycling the ball up the pitch and the forwards took it and gave Leeds defence plenty to keep them occupied with. We unluckily conceded a goal but then Neini, who obviously felt a defeat was not acceptable, popped a corker in the Leeds goal. We ended with a 1-1 draw which was a fair result for what was an evenly matched game.
POM - Hannah. For her awesome display of the most determined defence seen so far this year
Special thanks to Bev Flintoff for stepping in at short notice to run the subs.
