First league game proves level of opposition for this season.

Thirsk ladies traveled over to Halifax for not only their first match of the season but their first match in their new league! Division two- south east highest level a Thirsk ladies team have ever played at so everything was to play for.
Both teams came out strong from the start but despite strong marking Thirsk were the first team to score with Megan Allen capitalising on a deflection. Battling hard Bea bell banged in a second goal for Thirsk before the first half whistle.
Halifax returned to the pitch for the second half with a very clinical approach. They quickly started to draw out their oppositions weaknesses. Despite the score rapidly changing the Thirsk ladies worked hard but were not as lucky as their opposition with their chances! Halifax effectively racked up 5 goals in the second half giving Thirsk Ladies a realistic taste of the standard they are going to face over the coming season. The final score was 5 - 2 to Halifax.
