YYHL U16 BOYS DIV 3 - THIRSK: 5 WAKEFIELD 2NDS: 1

A great team performance in driving rain, the first game saw Thirsk take on Wakefield 2nd's in the YYHL U16 Boys Div 3, with constant rain fall from the start. The team started confidently with good passing and plenty of possession and great through ball by Matty Raynor to Tom Crack who smashed the ball from the edge of the D for a great finish. We continued to boss the game but one of Wakefield's rare attacks saw them awarded a penalty corner and mix up by our defence led too them scoring. The team continued to pass the ball well and a few minutes later great work from Matty Raynor to win the ball and pass to Callum Crisp who carried and held the ball until he could pass to Sam Kelly down the right wing, Sam then passed the ball across the D to be met by Connor Wilkinson at the far post who swept it in. The second half we again controlled, using both wings and our pressure lead to a second goal for Connor Wilkinson. Wakefield heads began to drop and great vision again from Matty and Callum saw Tom Crack on the ball who fired across the D for Sam Kelly to sweep it in for the fourth goal. We continued to press and more good play saw Tom Crack finish well for the fifth. Final score 5:1 a great team performance despite the constant rain
