In our game against the York 8th team we started with Dan Garlick in goal, Jonny Scaling as the sweeper, left back was Josh Fothergill, right back was Jon Statham and James Bojar was centre back. In mid field there was Liam Shannon in the bottom of the diamond, Alex Kennedy was left mid, Owen Williams was right mid and Michael Crammers was at the top of the diamond. Joseph Shannon and Jake Bowers were both centre forwards. York started the game strongly by putting pressure on our goal. The defence coped well, the ball was released out of the defence to Liam who then passed to Alex who then crossed it to Jake, he then scored the goal. The team kept up the pressure by scoring a further 2 goals one from Jonathan Craske one from Jake . Then York came back by scoring 2 goals before reaching half time. After the break Thirsk were on the back foot as they lacked energy due to being down 2 players as earlier one received a yellow card for “rudeness towards the umpire” and the second had received an injury. Thirsk then went on to finishing the game by scoring another 2 goals from Jake and Joseph. Thank you to York and the York umpires and the people who drove.
