Something for the Summer?

Thirsk Cricket Club are inquiring about the possibility of introducing the Thirsk Hockey Club Junior players to the cricket programmes we offer.

In 2021, we are making a big push to engage local children in junior cricket.

We have recruited a new and enthusiastic team of ECB (England Cricket Board) qualified and DBS certified junior coaches and will be running the following ECB programmes at Thirsk Cricket Club in 2021:

ECB All Stars programme (5-8 year olds)
ECB Dynamos programme (8-11 year olds)

The sessions will run over 8 weeks from mid-May starting at 18.00.
These are fun-based sessions designed to engage children of all abilities to engage in soft ball cricket.

We also offer a comprehensive programme of coaching and competitive matches for U11, U13, U15 and U19 from May to July.

Clearly, we are not looking to step on anyone's toes and recruit children to play cricket rather than hockey. What we were hoping for is to attract some talented athletes to play our summer sport during the closed season.
