Games against Rotherham and Hull.

A great day, very proud of the standard of play from the whole team.

Hull v Thirsk
Thirsk started well in their 1st game with a lovely rebound touch from Connie 2 mins in to the game.
Madison and Kate linked well on the rt forward line, Madison battling hard to win everything.
Hull put up a good fight in defence to thwart Thirsk efforts on goal for a nervous 5 mins. Thirsk then retained possession in the oppositions half of the pitch for the majority of the first 15 mins. Hulls keeper saving a strong shot on goal from Hettie.
Both Dora and Hattie kept Hull out of Thirsk’s D with well timed tackles and accurate distribution.
Thirsk kept up the pressure in the next 15mins, more good linking play between the mid field and the forwards, Connie was unlucky not to score her 2nd with a great shot just going wide of the post. Fire rocket Ruby beating 4 players to win the ball up front pushing the ball forward to get Thirsk a penalty corner. Thirsk unlucky not to score from it with a well worked routine.
Great individual skills, and a fantastic team effort saw Thirsk hold on to the lead and come out 1-0 winners.

Rotherham v Thirsk
Thirsk and Rotherham started with an even sided battle, both teams seeing good possession of the ball.
Thirsk working hard, Ruby intercepting well, and pushing forward. Thirsk won a short corner 5minutes in to the game, but couldn’t convert. Rotherham then scoring 5 minutes after with a dink in at the back post.
Defence had a lot more work to do in this game, and Evie worked hard keeping out a few attempts from Rotherham attacks.
Thirsk then saw a lot of play in the 2nd half, just unable to get the ball past the Rotherham defence. On the counter attack, Rotherham managed to gain a short corner scoring their 2nd goal from a rebound in to the corner.
Another great team effort. Unfortunate to loose 2-0.

A great day, very proud of the standard of play from the whole team.
