Thirsk travelled to Barnsley, level in second place. The opening exchanges were tough for Thirsk with Barnsley pressing high up the pitch and Thirsk finding it difficult to break out of defence. When the ball did find Jake Bowers, he was able to out-pace the opposition defence consistently and with the first short corner, Thirsk took the lead when Patrick Hunt jabbed the ball home from close range. In a match made for the neutral spectators, Barnsley equalised each time Thirsk took the lead, with the first half finishing 3-3, goals from Callum Crisp and a sweet strike from the edge of the D from Joseph Shannon, despite being reduced to 10 men when Arthur Webster-Jones was harshly penalised after a 50/50 challenge.
