Thirsk had a strong squad for the final match of the year against a resurgent Adel team. In contrast to recent weeks, the opposition marking was tight making it tougher than usual to find passes from defence to midfield and onwards to the attack. Adel took the lead from a short corner, but Thirsk continued to probe and Phil Bell scored an equaliser from a cleanly struck short corner. Thirsk played better after the break, Phil Hughes breaking down the opposition attacks and man of the match Phil Bell making some last ditch diving interceptions in defence, but it was Adel who regained the lead. Thirsk re-grouped and equalised again through precision passing to George Hunt on the penalty, who was able to find a gap just inside the post. Towards the end, Adel again took the lead from a short corner - Thirsk were unable to respond before time ran out. Another strong performance, but not quite enough in the end. Final score 2-3.
