Thirsk travelled to the dominant team in the league and started positively, with an extra defensive midfielder and Jake Bowers as lone striker. Despite less possession than normal, Jake was a constant threat harrying the opposition defenders, but despite creating several half chances was unable to convert. Thirsk's defence was well marshalled all game by Phil Bell with Jack Devlin making a strong debut and Matty Raynor sweeping effectively in front of the back 4, but eventually Doncaster were able to convert a couple of chances before half time. Will Mitchell made a series of saves and Dave Pickford cleared off the line to keep Thirsk in the game until the last 5 minutes when Doncaster nicked a third. Final score 0-3. Man of the Match: Will Mitchell.
