Thirsk started well, maintaining good possession but rarely creating clear chances, as the organised Brigg defence used any means to halt the Thirsk attacks, particularly troubled by the pace of Jake Bowers. As the match developed, Thirsk found more space and time on the flanks, and Jake drove into the D from the right, beating the defence and finding Liam Shannon who powered the ball past the wrong-footed keeper. With Brigg sitting ever deeper, Thirsk were able to push Andy Crute and Arthur Webster-Jones higher, creating more options to find an opening. Thirsk doubled the lead midway through the second half with good passing up the right side culminating in Callum Crisp drawing the keeper and squaring for Joseph Shannon to feed the ball into an open goal. Man of the match Liam Shannon.
