Thirsk continue winning run

Thirsk fielded a strong squad and started fast, with Jake Bowers finishing off a slick move up the right flank after 49 seconds to open the scoring. However, for the rest of the first half, Thirsk found it difficult to convert possession and pressure into goals. Leeds soaked up the pressure, trying to score on the break, bringing Matty Raynor and the central defenders behind him into play. The key message at half time was simply to continue to play like the first half, and this paid dividends at an early short corner, with a clean strike from Phil Bell to double the lead and calm nerves of an equaliser. Great work in midfield from Liam Shannon, Tom Westgate, Sam Kelly and Arthur Webster-Jones kept the Leeds defence working hard, and as they tired, Phil Hughes added a penalty stroke, Mark Dunsmore scored his first Thirsk goal deflecting a pass in at the far post and Jake completed the scoring for a convincing 5-0 scoreline. Man of the match Sam Kelly.
