The Men’s 2nd Team came away with all three points in a very competitive game at Wakefield. Thirsk opened the scoring thanks to Oliver Houseman who volleyed in at the back post. He also earned a penalty stroke when he was felled by their goalkeeper, but unfortunately this was missed. Wakefield dominated large periods of the second half, and it was only the saves of man of the match Mason Fenlon, along with the defenders Nick Lane, Andrew Young, Jon Statham and Ben Mcintosh who kept them to just a single goal in reply. Thirsk’s winners came from Tom Ward who put away his chance well. Final score 2-1 to Thirsk.
