Thirsk Hockey Club is a friendly, volunteer-led club. Our mission is to nurture the sport within our community, offering top-quality coaching and competitive opportunities regardless of age or skill level. We foster a fair and secure environment that enables our hockey players to flourish both on and off the field.

At our club, we embrace players of all abilities and emphasise good sportsmanship with teams and individuals supporting each other. Where members, be they players, parents, coaches, officials or volunteers, can be treated with respect both on and off the pitch.
We currently run two men's teams and three women’s teams playing in the Yorkshire & North East Leagues. Additionally, we have a development team that helps bring our young players into the world of adult hockey.

Our junior section boasts an extensive youth program for ages 4 to 16, engaging in local, regional, and national competitions starting from the U10 age group. We encourage junior players to ‘pay it forward’ by becoming junior leaders and umpires, as well as well-rounded players.

We organise evening training sessions throughout the week with adult matches on Saturdays and junior matches on some Sundays. We encourage all our players to take part in matches to enhance their teamwork, skills and overall enjoyment of the game.
Both individual and team success are equally valued, with participation contributing to well-being, health, and the social fabric that defines our club’s values.
