Junior Section 2 of 3

2. Training

Junior Training

The cost of training is covered by your annual membership fees, so there is no additional payment on the night. To attend you need to be registered with the club.

Our training schedule aligns with state school holidays and typically runs from early September until Easter.

We offer goalkeeping training, encouraging players to experience this role alongside their outfield training at no extra cost.

Please speak to the age-group coach if you’re interested in attending some goalkeeping training.
As a community sports club your child may not be placed with school friends, our experienced coaches will observe and move players around between groups and teams to help develop the player and the teams.

Sports clothing, hockey astro shoes, shin pads, gum shields, and ample water are essential for each session. We train in various weather conditions, so ensure players are appropriately dressed. If sessions are cancelled due to weather, we'll notify you via Pitchero.

We play and train in nearly all weathers so if it is cold, ensure players are appropriately dressed in warm clothes including hats and gloves. If sessions are cancelled due to weather, we'll notify you via Pitchero.

At the start of each training session, players must register and will only be allowed on the pitch when their session begins. The coaches will only look after players when on the pitch. Please supervise your children when not in training.

We expect parents of u8 and u10 groups to stay and watch. After the session, please collect your children from the collection point beside the blue container.
